A high-stakes match has been added to next week’s episode of NXT.

The Tuesday night brand’s two top men’s talents, Oba Femi and Trick Williams, will put their belts on the line in a title versus title bout on the next episode of NXT.

The matchup will see Femi wager his NXT Championship, with Williams putting his TNA World Championship on the line. The matchup was made following a suggestion from Grayson Waller on a special “Homecoming” episode of NXT at Full Sail University on Tuesday night.

The match not only has big implications due to it being for the top titles from two different weekly TV programs, but also because of how it could change the lineup for No Mercy on September 27. The winner of the match will go on to face Ricky Saints in Fort Lauderdale, meaning the prevailing talent will appear in two title appearances within a week.

Williams will be defending his TNA title for the sixth time since kicking off his reign back in May. He most recently put the belt up in mid-August, facing Moose in the main event of TNA Emergence. A win next week would mark the beginning of a third run with the NXT Championship, something only Samoa Joe has done in the past.

Femi has been the NXT Champion for over 250 days, a run that has seen him defend the title nine times, including against Williams in a three-way match earlier this year.

Two other matches have been announced for next week’s NXT.

As revealed by Lexis King during an in-ring segment, he’s expected to take on rival Myles Borne in a Lights Out match. The rivalry between these two has lasted weeks, including a blindfold match that King prevailed in last month.

Next week will also see Candice LeRae and Lainey Reid face off in a three-minute time limit bout. The winner will face WWE Speed Women’s Champion Sol Ruca at No Mercy.

Here’s how next week looks thus far:

  • Oba Femi vs. Trick Williams (TNA & NXT Championships)
  • Candice LeRae vs. Lainey Reid (WWE Speed Women’s Championship #1 Contenders Match)
  • Lexis King vs. Myles Borne (Lights Out match)
