Tony Khan hosted a media call on Thursday to promote All Out this weekend and revealed what match will open the show, plans for a major event in 2027, and clarified a previous report on Wardlow.

All Out takes place this Saturday at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto and will be the seventh edition of the show.

Highlights from the call:

  • Tony Khan promoted that this will be the most-attended All Out event in the show’s history, going back to 2019. The latest figure from WrestleTix lists 11,134 tickets distributed as of Wednesday at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto
  • Mike McGuire asked about ticket pricing and escalating prices elsewhere. Khan said they want to make AEW accessible for everyone
  • Jason Powell asked about the potential of AEW running a major event in the U.S. in the spring of 2027, with WrestleMania going to Saudi Arabia. Khan said he had “a lot of interest in it” and promises to run a big show in that time span and will have a huge edition of Revolution while harking back to Sting’s retirement at that event in the Greensboro Coliseum
  • Rob Wong asked about Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, and Khan responded that  they were two of the best people he’s worked with and revealed that the tag match against FTR will open the pay-per-view in Toronto at 3 p.m. ET
  • Ella Jay asked about the Tailgate Brawl pre-show and if they will be doing these televised specials in the future, and Khan inferred that it would be determined to see how this broadcast performs on TNT and HBO Max, and hopes to have more opportunities like this
  • Sean Ross Sapp asked about changing locations after establishing several yearly traditions. Khan responded that they are building new traditions, such as a year-end show with Worlds End in Chicago this year, a Thanksgiving Eve episode of Dynamite in Nashville, and are happy with the ticket sales for All Out after moving it away from Chicago
  • A question from the CBC was asked about Brody King wearing an “Abolish Ice” shirt, and AEW differentiating itself from WWE and bringing attention to these topics. Khan wants his performers to come across as their authentic selves, and their audience consists of many backgrounds, and they come together within a pro wrestling environment. Khan makes the focus of the show the pro wrestling, and people like Brody King and Hangman Page are excellent wrestlers at their core
  • Andrew Baydala brought up the decision to adjust the start time of All Out and if they will move start times in the future if the competition runs against them. Khan decided for its fans and cited the success of All In Texas and Forbidden Door in afternoon slots, and this was the best chance to deliver their best numbers based on metrics
  • Dominic DeAngelo asked about Wardlow’s return and subsequent injury, which Khan confirmed he did get hurt. Khan did state that it wasn’t accurate that Wardlow was going to challenge Hangman Page for the AEW title at All Out and was never the plan. He acknowledged that after it was reported by Fightful, the outlet posted a retraction and got the accurate information out, as well as reaching out to Fletcher privately. Khan said the plan was always to have Kyle Fletcher challenge Page for the title. Wardlow was going to be very involved in the television leading to All Out before the injury.
