The new AEW Women’s Champion will make her first title defense on Wednesday.
Tony Khan has announced a match for this week’s episode of Dynamite with Kris Statlander defending the AEW Women’s title against Mina Shirakawa.
Statlander won the fatal four-way at All Out, defeating champion “Timeless” Toni Storm, Jamie Hayter, and Thekla to become women’s champion for the first time.
Shirakawa has previously challenged for the AEW Women’s title against Toni Storm at Forbidden Door in June 2024, against Mariah May last December, and challenged Storm at Double or Nothing in May.
Shirakawa teamed with Willow Nightingale, Queen Aminata & Harley Cameron to beat Julia Hart, Skye Blue, Penelope Ford & Megan Bayne in the Tailgate Brawl this past Saturday in Toronto.
AEW Dynamite takes place at the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh on Wednesday.
