TNA Wrestling states that they are investigating former Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich following allegations of physical and mental abuse towards a former partner.
An account on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Tuesday afternoon posted a Dropbox link to the site, saying that the page included a series of “abusive text messages” from the ex-TNA champ during her relationship with U.S.-based independent wrestler AKIRA.
The folder contained dozens of text conversation screenshots allegedly between Slamovich and AKIRA. In one exchange, AKIRA is seen accusing Slamovich of striking him. “You hit me. You’re wrong,” a text said. “You cursed at me that’s why u got hit,” a reply, which was allegedly Slamovich, replied.
Other screenshots show AKIRA talking to someone else via Discord, detailing exchanges he had with his partner at the time. In the conversations, dated to 2023, he’s seen explaining exchanges with Slamovich and the way it’s affecting him.
“She said she’d ruin me and it would be nothing,” he says in one screenshot. In another, he mentions suicidal thoughts.
“I’m having the worst thoughts … I never wanted to jump in front of a bus. But I just took [my dog] Kota out and thought about it.”
A few photos also show bruising and scratches on AKIRA’s head and body, allegedly caused by Slamovich.
In the hours since the allegations surfaced, Slamovich was pulled from upcoming bookings with Prestige Wrestling and West Coast Pro Wrestling.
TNA Wrestling also said later that evening that they were looking into the claims.
“We take any allegations like this very seriously, and have begun an internal investigation,” a TNA spokesperson told Jon Alba of Sports Illustrated on Tuesday evening.
AKIRA posted to social media on Tuesday evening, not mentioning Slamovich by name but describing his history with her.
“I almost killed myself three times as the life I tried to build with someone was torn apart and I became nothing to that person,” he wrote. “It was like a withdrawal, every time I went to the hospital that person I put on a pedestal was gone. I didn’t matter.”
In a Discord message he added, “[She] Throws my stuff. Tries to block me. I throw her to the couch. She says I hit her. She then hits me and headbutts me and keeps hitting me. And I throw an errant hand. She tries to take me down. I tap her out. Then she starts screaming that I need to get out and I’m assaulting her.”
Slamovich, 27, has been a prominent talent on the TNA roster while continuing to carry a significant presence on the independent scene. She carried the Knockouts World Championship for over 260 days, a reign that came to an end in July after she dropped the title to Jacy Jayne at Slammiversary.
POST Wrestling reached out to Masha Slamovich regarding the allegations, and she has declined to comment at this time.
