Weekend TV Guide: No Mercy, Destruction in Kobe, Victory Road & More

There’s always a ton happening with professional wrestling during the weekend, and sometimes it’s hard to keep track of what to watch during the industry’s busiest days of the week.

To help keep track of what you might want to see in the coming days, POST Wrestling has compiled a quick TV guide, highlighting what’s going down and where you can see it all. Here’s what the weekend has to offer:

Friday

WWE Friday Night Smackdown / USA Network / 8 p.m. ET

The big focus of tonight’s Smackdown at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida, will be a triple threat match, with Tiffany Stratton putting her WWE Women’s Championship on the line against rivals Nia Jax and Jade Cargill.

Jax and Cargill have played a major part in Stratton’s reign this year, appearing in five of her eight past title appearances. After Jax interfered in a match between Stratton and Cargill earlier this month, they’ll all face off with the title on the line for the first time ever this weekend. Will Cargill earn her first WWE singles gold, Jax begin her third reign, or Stratton continue to march toward the 300-day mark? We’ll find out tonight.

  • Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill vs. Nia Jax (WWE Women’s Championship)
  • Giulia & Kiana James vs. B-Fab & Michin

TNA Victory Road / TNA+ / 9 p.m. ET

TNA will present one of its smaller Premium Live Events (PLE) of the year on Friday evening, heading out to the Edmonton Expo Centre in Alberta, Canada for Victory Road. The build to this show has been somewhat quiet, as TNA has put a significant amount of its recent energy into promoting the much bigger Bound For Glory lineup, set for October.

The event also had a last-minute reshuffling, as abuse allegations levied against Masha Slamovich earlier this week caused her to be removed from a presumably headlining title bout against Ash By Elegance.

The lineup has some intriguing matchups, and while the show won’t be the biggest results-wise, a few matches have potential to be great. Most eye-catching to me, personally, is the meeting between fast-rising 20-year-old X-Division Champion Leon Slater and Rascalz risk-taker Myron Reed.

  • Trey Miguel vs. Zachary Wentz vs. Cedric Alexander (Pre-show)
  • AJ Francis’ First Class Penthouse feat. Matt Hardy (Pre-show)
  • Mustafa Ali vs. Moose
  • Matt Cardona & The Home Town Man vs. Nic Nemeth & Ryan Nemeth
  • Mike Santana vs. Ridge Holland
  • Heather & M By Elegance vs. Cassie Lee & Jessie McKay (TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championships)
  • Joe Hendry vs. Eric Young
  • Steve Maclin vs. Frankie Kazarian (TNA International Championship)
  • Leon Slater vs. Myron Reed (TNA X-Division Championship)

Saturday

NXT No Mercy / Peacock / 7 p.m. ET

The sole special programming from WWE this weekend sees NXT hit up the FTL War Memorial in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for No Mercy. Although the build to the event was somewhat overshadowed this week by the ongoing TNA vs. NXT angle, the card nonetheless has a solid first-time title matchup between NXT Champion Oba Femi and Ricky Saints. The show will also see Lola Vice, who has lots of momentum currently, try for her first title against NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne.

This card got some last-minute additions earlier in the week, notably the continuation of a feud between recent signings Jordynne Grace and Blake Monroe with a Weaponized Steel Cage match. Here’s what Fort Lauderdale can expect:

  • Jordynne Grace vs. Blake Monroe (Weaponized Steel Cage Match)
  • Josh Briggs vs. Je’Von Evans
  • Sol Ruca vs. Lainey Reid (WWE Women’s Speed Championship)
  • Ethan Page vs. Tavion Heights (NXT North American Championship)
  • Jacy Jayne vs. Lola Vice (NXT Women’s Championship)
  • Oba Femi vs. Ricky Saints (NXT Championship)

AEW Collision / TNT / 8 p.m. ET

Kyle Fletcher’s goal of being a fighting champion with the TNT title will continue this Saturday at the Marshall Health Network Arena in Huntington, West Virginia, when he puts his gold on the line against the returning Komander. This is a big spot for Komander, coming back to AEW programming for the first time since June, as an injury kept him out of the spotlight for a while. It’ll be a bounce-back performance for Fletcher after coming up short against Hangman Adam Page at All Out last weekend.

The undercard features Eddie Kingston’s second match back and the continuation of a feud between Max Caster and Anthony Bowens, with Jerry Lynn hoping he can finally reconnect the two by booking them for tag action this weekend.

  • Jamie Hayter vs. Julia Hart
  • Hook & Eddie Kingston vs. Big Bill & Bryan Keith
  • Max Caster & Anthony Bowens vs. Blake Christian & Lee Johnson
  • Kyle Fletcher vs. Komander (TNT Championship)

Sunday

NJPW Destruction in Kobe 2025 / NJPW World / 3 a.m. ET

NJPW will present its first major domestic event since the G1 Climax this Sunday, heading to the Kobe World Hall for Destruction in Kobe. The main event will see IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Zack Sabre Jr. try to get back a loss he suffered against Ren Narita on the opening night of the G1, one of just three matches he dropped in the entire tournament.

Five title fights are set for the show in total, including a bout that will see Hiromu Takahashi put his GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship up against former NOAH talent Taiji Ishimori. It’s certainly not one of NJPW’s biggest shows of the year, but some headlines are likely to emerge from the evening.

  • YOH, El Desperado, YOSHI-HASHI, Yuya Uemura & Shota Umino vs. SHO, DOUKI, Dick Togo, SANADA & EVIL
  • Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Great-O-Khan
  • Boltin Oleg vs. Don Fale (NEVER Openweight Championship)
  • Taichi & Tomohiro Ishii vs. OSKAR & Yuto-Ice (IWGP Tag Team Championships)
  • Hiromu Takahashi vs. Taiji Ishimori (GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship)
  • Yota Tsuji vs. David Finlay
  • Shingo Takagi vs. Gabe Kidd (IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship)
  • Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Ren Narita (IWGP World Heavyweight Championship)

GCW Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport: London / TrillerTV+ / 3 p.m. ET

Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport, the shoot-inspired wrestling event which has become a tradition during Wrestlemania weekends, will touch down in England for the first time ever on Sunday. A lineup from the Electric Ballroom in London will feature performances from numerous talents with a background in combat sports, like MMA vet Chris Bungard, AEW talent and ex-boxer Anthony Ogogo, and of course, Barnett himself. Bloodsport has a cult following online, which will be tuned in on Sunday afternoon:

  • Lou Nixon vs. Chris Bungard
  • Chris Ridgeway vs. Mark Trew
  • Ryan Davies vs. James Pharrell
  • Heddi Karaoui vs. Kev Lloyd
  • Josh Barnett vs. Oli Thompson
  • Brett Semtex vs. Anthony Ogogo
  • John Hathaway vs. Taylor McCann

A few more shows to consider…

  • STARDOM has attracted a fair amount of attention this weekend for a champion-versus-champion match set for this Saturday at Korakuen Hall, as Saya Kamitani will put her World of STARDOM Championship on the line against AZM, who is wagering her NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship. (STARDOM World)
  • Yoshihiko, the wrestling doll, will headline DDT’s Korakuen Hall card on Sunday afternoon against Kazuki Hirata, attempting to start its first-ever reign as the KO-D Openweight Champion. The undercard also features appearances from Minoru Suzuki, Jun Akiyama, and AEW’s Evil Uno. (Wrestle Universe)
  • Just hours before Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport takes place in London, England, PROGRESS will go live from the Electric Ballroom with “Camden Lock Up.” The card will feature a “Loser Leaves PROGRESS” bout between Nina Samuels and Kanji, as well as an open challenge from PROGRESS Women’s Champion Rhio.
