Sol Ruca successfully defended her WWE Speed Women’s Championship at Saturday’s NXT No Mercy, defeating last-minute replacement Jaida Parker.

NXT General Manager Ava named Parker the new challenger after the originally scheduled opponent, Lainey Reid, was declared not medically cleared to compete .

The bout was contested under the title’s five-minute time limit.

The action quickly spilled to the outside, where Ruca hit a dive onto Parker from the steel steps. Later, Parker gained control and scored a near-fall after a falcon arrow with 2:47 left on the clock.

The finish was set up by an appearance from Lash Legend, who came down to the ringside area and distracted Parker.

Ruca capitalized on the opportunity, rolling Parker up for the pinfall victory with only 11 seconds remaining in the match.

The match marked the first time the WWE Speed Women’s Championship has been defended on a premium live event.
