TNA Hall of Famer Gail Kim has stated that she was approached by AEW about a potential in-ring return following her departure from TNA Wrestling in March 2025.

Kim’s clarification came in response to a claim from journalist B.J. Bethel, who posted on X that Kim had contacted AEW about an opportunity but was not answered. Kim refuted the claim, stating the person who made it had “zero integrity”.

She then posted her version of events, stating that the contact was initiated by AEW. According to Kim, Sonjay Dutt reached out to her after her TNA termination to ask if she was interested in wrestling. She stated:

The real news about what happened with AEW since people will lie etc. I was saving it for interviews but oh well it’s now. I got one text from AEW when I was terminated from TNA. It was from Sonjay and inquiring more about whether I wanted to wrestle. I’m retired. End of story.

The post was among several exchanges on various wrestling topics in recent days involving Kim, who has also engaged with Kenny Omega and Dave Meltzer.

Kim had been working in a backstage capacity for TNA before her departure in March. While she retired as a full-time performer in 2017, her last match was in 2023 in a multi-woman tag match at the Impact 1000 event.
