The two top title matchups for AEW WrestleDream have been confirmed.

We now know who the AEW men’s and women’s world champions will face as part of the promotion’s October 18 pay-per-view card at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri, as both bouts were confirmed on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite.

AEW World Champion Hangman Adam Page will put his title on the line against Samoa Joe.

Joe felt disrespected by Page during their six-man tag match on this week’s episode of Dynamite against the Death Riders. While Page denied intentionally trying to disrespect Joe, the former world champ described slight actions, like getting his six-man tag title belt dropped on the floor instead of being handed to him, as signs of disrespect.

Because of his respect for Joe, Page offered him a title match at WrestleDream but warned him not to act out of character like he did on Wednesday night.

“Part of the reason I am able to hold this championship now is because of what you did at All In, I won’t forget it,” Page said on Wednesday. “So if you want a title match for this, I will give you one. I will give you a few weeks to prepare. At WrestleDream, Samoa Joe, it will be you and I, one-on-one for the world championship. Samoa Joe, I look up to you, I respect you. You throw another fit like that at me, I will ruin your life.”

A win later this month for Joe would mark the beginning of his second run with the top men’s belt. He previously held the title for 113 days from late 2023 to April 2024, a campaign which saw him overcome Page in a three-way also featuring Swerve Strickland at Revolution 2024. Page will be trying to defend his title for the fifth time since regaining gold at All In earlier this year.

It was also confirmed on Wednesday that Kris Statlander’s first pay-per-view appearance as AEW Women’s World Champion will come against ex-champ Toni Storm.

Storm, who dropped the title to Statlander at All Out, called for a rematch on Wednesday. But unlike their previous meeting, which was a four-way contest, this time Storm wants to meet Statlander one-on-one, something they have never done before. Statlander agreed to face her again.

Storm, the only four-time women’s champ in AEW history, had a lengthy 217-day run with the title brought to an end when she lost to Statlander last month. For Statlander, she’ll have to get past Storm if she doesn’t want to go down as one of the shortest-lived women’s champs in AEW history.

Just three matchups are known for WrestleDream thus far. We learned last week that Jon Moxley and Darby Allin will meet in an I Quit bout:

  1. Jon Moxley vs. Darby Allin (I Quit Match)
  2. Hangman Adam Page vs. Samoa Joe (AEW World Championship)
  3. Kris Statlander vs. Toni Storm (AEW Women’s World Championship)
