“Dark Side of the Ring,” a documentary series which puts a spotlight on some of professional wrestling’s biggest controversies and most tragic stories, isn’t going anywhere.
The show has been renewed for a seventh season by Vice, per a report on Wednesday night by PWInsider.
The series, first launched by Evan Husney and Jason Eisener in 2019, has aired 60 original episodes and also had its own brief spin-off, “Tales from the Territories.” Many of wrestling’s most prolific stories, including “The Montreal Screwjob,” Chris Benoit’s double-murder suicide, and “The Plane Ride from Hell” have all been covered on the show.
Season 6 wrapped up airing back in May. The latest season included episodes on “Superstar” Billy Graham, Big Van Vader, and Muhammad Hasan.
Co-creator Husney told POST in 2023 that a goal of the show for him has been to take some of the wilder stories from wrestling and package them in a way that a viewer could relate to.
“Even though it’s the crazy world of wrestling, you can really relate to a lot of the stories on the show,” he said.
A premiere date for the new season isn’t known, although the report mentioned that the crew is currently in the process of working on new episodes and just recently were in Louisville, Kentucky to film.
