Just a day after the news that New Day tag partner Xavier Woods has inked a deal to stay under the WWE umbrella, word has gotten out that Kofi Kingston isn’t leaving anytime soon, either.
Fightful Select wrote on Wednesday that Kingston re-signed with WWE sometime earlier this year. The report states that Kingston inked a five-year deal, keeping him with the company into 2030.
Kingston, the longest-tenured of all three past or present New Day members, is approaching his 20-year anniversary as a WWE talent. Wrestling database Cagematch.net shows that he has worked an astounding 2,200 matches for the company in that time.
Kingston has obtained a long list of accomplishments over the years. Among them: A 180-day reign as WWE Champion, seven other singles title runs, and a whopping 15 different tag title campaigns.
44-year-old Kingston has spent the past decade of his career with the New Day. Woods and Kingston have worked as a heel duo under the New Day banner ever since they kicked Big E from the group last year.
