Weekend TV Guide: Crown Jewel down under, Santana gets second chance at Bound for Glory & more!

It’s another busy weekend in professional wrestling, with action happening all day and every day. WWE will head to Australia for Crown Jewel tomorrow, AEW continues its build toward WrestleDream with Collision, TNA presents one of its biggest cards of the year in Bound for Glory, and much more is all set to go down over the next 72 hours.

Here are five events we have picked out for this week’s TV guide, along with four other shows worth mentioning.

Friday

WWE Friday Night Smackdown / 8 p.m.* ET / USA Network

WWE has loaded up a go-home edition of Smackdown this weekend, which will air just 12 hours before Crown Jewel goes down in Perth. In a rematch from Clash in Paris, the Street Profits will try to overcome recent issues within the group and finally dethrone the Wyatt Sicks for the brand’s tag titles.

Also, just hours before they face off in a singles bout, Stephanie Vaquer and Tiffany Stratton will attempt to co-exist in a tag bout. Friday’s show will feature another Sami Zayn U.S. Open Challenge, which has personally become a major highlight of the show in recent months.

  • Aleister Black vs. Damian Priest (Last Man Standing Match)
  • Stephanie Vaquer & Tiffany Stratton vs. Giulia & Kiana James
  • Dexter Lumis & Joe Gacy vs. Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford (WWE Tag Team Championships)
  • Sami Zayn U.S. Open Challenge

*In markets where Smackdown is available to watch on Netflix, the show will air live at 8 a.m. ET. In America, however, the show will air at its usual prime-time TV slot.

House of Glory: With Glory Comes Pride 2025 / 8 p.m. ET / TrillerTV+

New York-based House of Glory has one of the stronger indie lineups of the weekend, including appearances from a few talents who will also be seen just a few days later at Bound for Glory.

The coolest booking here, in my opinion, is a matchup between Leon Slater and The Amazing Red. Slater broke Red’s record for youngest X-Division Champion in TNA history when he captured the belt at 20 years old earlier this year. Now, months removed from that win, he’ll get to face the TNA pioneer one-on-one for the first time ever.

The lineup features Charles Mason defending his HOG title against England’s Man Like DeReiss, and Indi Hartwell, just two days before she challenges for the TNA Knockouts World Championship, taking on ex-WWE ID talent Zayda Steel.

It’s also worth mentioning that The Hardys, who have the TNA Tag Team Championships and just picked up the NXT tag belts on Tuesday, could leave New York with the House of Glory tag titles if they prevail over Jay Lyon and Midas Black.

  • Indi Hartwell vs. Zayda Steel (HOG Women’s Championship)
  • Zilla Fatu vs. Bear Bronson (HOG Crown Jewel Championship)
  • Leon Slater vs. Amazing Red
  • Matt Jardy & Jeff Hardy vs. Jay Lyon & Midas Black (HOG & TNA Tag Team Championships)
  • Charles Mason vs. Man Like DeReiss (HOG Heavyweight Championship) (No Disqualification)
  • Killer Kross vs. Matt Cardona

Saturday

WWE Crown Jewel 2025 / 8 a.m. ET / ESPN

WWE’s Crown Jewel Premium Live Event (PLE) will leave Saudi Arabia for the first time ever this weekend, travelling over to the RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia on Saturday. For fans in North America, this means it’ll be breakfast and bodyslams on Saturday morning, if you plan on watching this show live.

John Cena’s retirement tour will make one of its final stops on Saturday, going one-on-one with AJ Styles for the first time since 2018. The record is tied 2-2 between their past broadcasted matchups, and Saturday will be the tiebreaker for their decade-long rivalry.

A fair amount of the night will focus on Raw programs: Looking for revenge against Bronson Reed, who left him hurt at Clash in Paris, Roman Reigns will face “The Tribal Thief” in an “Australian Street Fight.” Also, shortly after her split from Asuka and Kairi Sane, IYO SKY will team with Rhea Ripley to take on her former allies.

The card will also feature the second-annual Crown Jewel Championship matches, which see the top men’s and women’s champs face off against each other. Cody Rhodes could go back-to-back if he wins against Seth Rollins. For Raw’s Stephanie Vaquer, she has a chance to hand Tiffany Stratton her first singles loss of 2025 on Saturday.

  • IYO SKY & Rhea Ripley vs. Asuka & Kairi Sane
  • Roman Reigns vs. Bronson Reed (Australian Street Fight)
  • John Cena vs. AJ Styles
  • Stephanie Vaquer vs. Tiffany Stratton (Women’s 2025 Crown Jewel Championship)
  • Seth Rollins vs. Cody Rhodes (Men’s 2025 Crown Jewel Championship)

AEW Collision / 8 p.m. ET / TNT

AEW will wrap up its “Homecoming” week at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida with an episode of Collision on Saturday night. The upcoming show, which was taped on Wednesday, will see AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander attempt to work alongside WrestleDream opponent Toni Storm in six-woman tag team action against Thekla’s Triangle of Madness group.

In a match that I believe could deliver significantly, Megan Bayne will team with FTR to face Willow Nightingale and JetSpeed. That’s my bout to watch on Saturday night’s broadcast.

It seems as though the show will also still include a singles match between Kota Ibushi and Josh Alexander, as the match was still being promoted as of Thursday evening. Word got out Wednesday that Ibushi suffered an injury during the match, forcing the bout’s finish.

  • Tay Melo & Anna Jay in action
  • Eddie Kingston vs. The Beast Mortos
  • Megan Bayne, Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler vs. Willow Nightingale, Kevin Knight & Mike Bailey
  • Josh Alexander vs. Kota Ibushi
  • Max Caster & Anthony Bowens vs. Big Bill & Bryan Keith
  • Kris Statlander, Toni Storm & Harley Cameron vs. Thekla, Skye Blue & Julia Hart

Sunday

TNA Bound for Glory / 7 p.m. ET / TNA+

TNA Wrestling will get the spotlight on Sunday, as they’ll head over to Lowell, Massachusetts for one of their biggest events of the year, Bound for Glory.

The main event is likely to be the long-awaited crowning moment for Mike Santana, who has hunted down NXT’s Trick Williams for months on end but has yet to take the TNA world title off him. When Santana lost a three-way for the title in his own backyard at Slammiversary, the decision was criticized by many. Months later, he has a chance to get payback in a second-ever one-on-one clash against Williams.

In another NXT vs. TNA bout, X-Division champ Leon Slater will take on Je’Von Evans. With a combined age of 42, still younger than many on the card, this bout is a testament to a pair of young yet incredibly promising talents who have risen up as of late.

There will also be loads of attention on the last-ever clash between The Hardys and Team 3D, who will meet up in a tables match. The bout will be not only for The Hardys’ TNA titles, but also their newly-earned NXT belts.

  • Cassie Lee & Jessie McKay vs. Heather & M By Elegance (TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championships) (Pre-Show)
  • Tessa Blanchard vs. Gia Miller
  • Call Your Shot Guantlet Match
  • Alisha Edwards, Brian Myers, Eddie Edwards, JDC & Moose vs. Tasha Steelz, Jason Hotch, John Skyler, Special Agent 0 & Mustafa Ali (Hardcore War Match)
  • Frankie Kazarian vs. Steve Maclin (TNA International Championship)
  • Leon Slater vs. Je’Von Evans (TNA X-Division Championship)
  • Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy vs. Bully Ray & Devon (TNA & NXT Tag Team Championships) (Tables Match)
  • Kelani Jordan vs. Indi Hartwell (TNA Knockouts World Championship)
  • Trick Williams vs. Mike Santana (TNA World Championship)

A few other shows to consider…

  • The feud between GCW and Juggalo Championship Wrestling will reach its climax over this weekend when the promotions face off in a five-on-five Wargames match at the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City. The special match is part of a two-night stretch of events GCW is putting on this weekend in New Jersey. (TrillerTV+)
  • Saturday’s NJPW Road To King of Pro Wrestling card will feature a championship main event, as House of Torture’s DOUKI and SHO will defend their IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships against El Desperado and former Michinoku Pro vet Kuukai. The lore is that Desperado decided Kuukai would have good chemistry with him due to his experience in the Mexican indies as of late. Good enough to end DOUKI and SHO’s three-month reign? We’ll find out. (NJPW World)
  • STARDOM will hit up Korakuen Hall on Saturday for a card with two title showdowns scheduled. In her first matchup since earning the CMLL Japan Women’s Championship, Koguma will take on Hazuki, who hasn’t held the title before. Earlier in the evening, HATE’s Natsuko Tora and Ruaka will put their Goddesses of STARDOM titles on the line against the God’s Eye duo of Lady C and Ami Sohrei. (STARDOM World)
  • More Joshi action will be live a day later: MIRAI will have her farewell match in MARIGOLD on Sunday, teaming with Mai Sakurai to face Nagisa Nozaki and CHIAKI in the co-main event of a Korakuen Hall card. MIRAI joined the promotion back during its 2024 launch, being among the talents to make the jump from STARDOM to the Rossy Ogawa-led upstart. Sunday’s show will close out with a title bout between Mayu Iwatani and Seri Yamaoka. (Wrestle Universe)
