Steve Maclin defeated Frankie Kazarian to become the new TNA International Champion at the Bound for Glory pay-per-view.

The title change occurred in the opening match of the main card on Sunday in Lowell, Massachusetts.

The bout began aggressively, with Kazarian hitting a sunset bomb on Maclin to the arena floor in the opening minute. Kazarian then confronted Maclin’s mother, who was seated at ringside. She responded by giving him two middle fingers.

Back in the ring, the action included several near falls. Kazarian attempted to use the ropes for leverage on a pin attempt, but the referee caught him and stopped the count. He later hit an Angel’s Wings for a two-count. Maclin also survived a cutter from the champion.

The finish of the match saw Maclin escape a tree of woe. He then successfully hit his finishing move, the KIA, to secure the pinfall and win the championship.

After the match, Maclin celebrated at ringside with his mom.
