NJPW reveals teams for Super Jr. Tag League

New Japan’s Super Junior Tag League teams were revealed on Tuesday as the tour commences next week.

The first of two tag leagues will wrap up New Japan’s year as the junior heavyweights take center stage from October 23 through November 2.

YAMATO will be representing Dragongate and teaming with Tiger Mask in the B Block. In 2009, he participated in the Best of the Super Juniors tournament and went to the semi-finals of that year’s Super J Cup.

The round-robin portion will feature two blocks consisting of six teams on each side. The final will occur at Hiroshi Tanahashi’s final homecoming event in Gifu next month.

Block A:

  • Ryusuke Taguchi & Dragon Dia
  • YOH & Master Wato
  • Hiromu Takahashi & Gedo
  • Clark Connors & Daiki Nagai
  • Templario & Jakob Austin Young
  • DOUKI & SHO

Block B:

  • El Desperado & KUUKAI
  • Tiger Mask & YAMATO
  • KUSHIDA & Yuki Yoshioka
  • Robbie Eagles & Kosei Fujita
  • Taiji Ishimori & Robbie X
  • Yoshinobu Kanemaru & Dick Togo

The tour features eight shows beginning on October 23, with both blocks represented on the opening night at Korakuen Hall.

  • B BLOCK: El Desperado & KUUKAI vs. Robbie Eagles & Kosei Fujita
  • A BLOCK: Master Wato & YOH vs. Ryusuke Taguchi & Dragon Dia
  • B BLOCK: KUSHIDA & Yuki Yoshioka vs. Tiger Mask & YAMATO
  • A BLOCK: Hiromu Takahashi & Gedo vs. Clark Connors & Daiki Nagai
