The Hurt Syndicate earned a future AEW World Trios Championship match by defeating The Demand at WrestleDream on Saturday.

Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP won the Tornado Trios match to become the new number one contenders.

The match began when The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) blindsided The Hurt Syndicate during their entrance on the ramp.

The action quickly spilled to the outside. Ricochet set up a table, which led to The Gates of Agony (Kaun and Liona) slamming Benjamin off the ring steps, driving him through Lashley who was laid out on the table below.

With Lashley and Benjamin temporarily removed, The Demand isolated MVP in the ring. Ricochet hit a running shooting star press off Liona’s back, but Benjamin recovered just in time to break up the pinfall.

Lashley rallied for his team, hitting clotheslines on all three opponents and a double DDT on Kaun and Liona. Lashley later hit a Dominator on Ricochet for a two-count. The Demand countered a superplex attempt by Lashley, turning it into a Tower of Doom involving members of both teams.

In the closing moments, Lashley neutralized Liona with a Spear. The Hurt Syndicate then surrounded Ricochet. Kaun pulled Ricochet out of the ring to safety, sacrificing himself to the three opponents.

Benjamin hit Kaun with a knee strike, setting him up for a final Spear from Lashley. Lashley then pinned Kaun to secure the victory and the title shot.
