This week’s episode of AEW Collision will feature a pair of title matchups, as well as the latest installment in the drama within Don Callis’ Family.
Saturday’s episode, which is being taped this evening at the Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, Texas, has three matchups confirmed for it thus far. Here is what was announced on Wednesday night:
Mercedes Moné will defend her CMLL World Women’s Championship as part of this weekend’s show, putting the belt on the line against Lucha veteran Olympia.
Moné has kept a CMLL title as part of her belt collection since June, when she dethroned Zeuxis in Mexico City. She has defended the title twice since then, including an 18-minute victory over Persephone earlier this month.
Olympia, who made her AEW debut last weekend with a win over Taya Valkyrie on Collision, will be aiming for her first-ever CMLL title with a win in the upcoming appearance.
Collision will also feature an ROH title match, as world champ Bandido will put his belt up for grabs against Mascara Dorada.
The title bout is a rematch from June, when Bandido overcame Dorada in a nearly 20-minute battle inside Arena Mexico. Dorada briefly appeared on AEW programming last month, beating The Beast Mortos in singles action then competing in a three-way at All Out 2025. After those two stand-out performances, he’ll return to the promotion against a talent who has been on fire in-ring throughout this year.
In an attempt to cool tension between rivals Konosuke Takeshita and Kazuchika Okada, Don Callis put the two wrestlers in a tag match this weekend. They’ll try to co-exist against Max Caster and Anthony Bowens, who have had a fair share of their own troubles as of late, too.
Looking ahead to next week, it was also announced that the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship tournament will continue when Dynamite heads to Houston. Highly successful singles talents Mercedes Moné and Athena will come together as a tag team, meeting Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron in quarter-final action.
We were given a slight preview of the match this week, as a brawl between Moné and women’s world champ Kris Statlander later also involved Athena and the Nightingale/Cameron duo. It was the babyface trio who stood tall at the end of the segment.
