This story was updated on November 9 at 4.25pm ET to reflect fresh comments from Luke Menzies.
Luke Menzies, formerly known as Ridge Holland in WWE, has issued a statement clarifying that a GoFundMe campaign started for his family was created without his knowledge.
He has requested the fundraiser be stopped and said he will eventually donate the amount raised to charity.
Update: Menzies clarified in a post on X that he is not immediately donating the GoFundMe proceeds but intends to match the amount in a donation to charity when he is earning enough funds.
I AM NOT DONATING THE GO FUND ME MONEY!
Once I am earning money and in a position to donate I will donate to charity. This will be the money i earn not the go fund me money.
I am not a scammer.

The statement follows a tumultuous period for Menzies, who was released by WWE last week.
Menzies was first informed in October that his WWE contract would not be renewed upon its expiration on November 14. This news came after he suffered a significant Lisfranc foot injury in September while representing NXT at a TNA taping.
On November 4, Menzies posted on social media about his financial anxiety, stating he was being “hung out to dry” by the company. Reports emerged shortly after that WWE had terminated his contract early, just days before it was set to expire.
In the wake of his release, a GoFundMe campaign was launched by a family member seeking to raise $60,000 for Menzies and his family.
Menzies addressed the fundraiser directly, stating he was not involved in its creation:
Thank you all for the incredible support shown through the GoFundMe campaign. However, I want to clarify that I was not aware the page was going live and had no prior discussion with the family member who created it. I’ve since requested that no further donations be accepted, and this change should take effect within the next 24 hours. Once we figure out how to move forward and I recoup the amount donated, I will be donating said amount to charity. I sincerely apologize if the page caused any upset or offense — that was never the intention. Thank you for your understanding and kindness.
Meanwhile, the campaign’s organizer, Susan Chapman, identified herself on the page as Menzies’ mother and confirmed his statement:
Hello everyone, I wanted to write this update to let you know that I’m the mum of the father that you all are supporting. I set this fundraiser up for the family without them knowing because I want to help. I also wanted to thank you all for your support, it is very much appreciated.
Menzies has since launched a new YouTube channel to discuss his career and has expressed regret over his public social media posts about his release.
