Templario and TJP have held the tag titles since May, when they took the belts off Jorel Nelson and Royce Isaacs. They have since defended the belts twice in Mexico, overcoming the duos of Los Villanos and Los Hermanos much earlier this year.
They will now try to get past the duo of Angel de Oro and Niebla Roja, who have held CMLL’s World Tag Team Championships for an astounding nearly 1,400 days.
The tag title bout will serve as the co-main event for a show headlined by tag action, as Atlantis Jr. and Neon will face the team of Volador Jr. and Hechicero.
Earlier in the night, the Mexican National Trios Championships will be on the line when Felino Jr., Hijo de Stuka Jr., and El Cobarde defend against Akuma and Los Gemelos Diablos.
Here’s a full look at the lineup for Friday’s show:
- Oro Jr. & Diamond vs. Polvora & El Coyote
- Stigma, Rayo Metalico, Pegasso & Arkalis vs. Kraneo, Calavera Jr. I, Infarto & Calavera Jr. II
- Marcela, Princesa Sugehit & La Magnifica vs. Zeuxis, Lluvia & Valkyria
- Felino Jr., Hijo de Stuka Jr. & Cobarde vs. Akuma, Gemelo Diablo II & Gemelo Pantera II (Mexican National Trios Championships)
- Templario & TJP vs. Angel de Oro & Niebla Roja (NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championships)
