WWE announces ‘long-term strategic partnership’ with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE)

WWE has formalized a partnership with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, a Canadian company which owns many of Toronto’s top sports teams and the city’s most prominent arena, Scotiabank Arena.

The “long-term strategic partnership” reached by WWE and MLSE will allow the brands to present “merchandise collaborations, original digital content development, community-focused programs, and regular cross-brand appearances from team players and WWE Superstars,” per a press release issued Wednesday.

As part of the agreement, it was announced that Monday Night Raw will return to the Scotiabank Arena on January 26. It was teased that “Toronto sports personalities” will attend the show, and WWE talents will be present at Toronto Maple Leafs games on the Sunday and Tuesday surrounding the TV taping.

A pre-sale for the tickets will begin on Thursday morning.

WWE and MLSE have a long-standing relationship. In 2016, as a way to show their strength as a duo, WWE was inducted into MLSE’s “ICONS Program,” a way to thank them for their long history of hosting events in their venues. Other ICON inductees included Madonna, U2, Bon Jovi, and The Tragically Hip.

WWE has visited the Scotiabank Arena (formerly known as the Air Canada Centre) frequently since the early 2000s. The venue has played host to six different pay-per-view or Premium Live Event cards, including Money in the Bank 2024 and Summerslam 2019.
