The MVP of AEW won’t be hitting the free agent market anytime soon.

MVP stated in a recent interview with Adventure Gamers that he has signed an extension for his deal with the wrestling promotion, an agreement he believes will allow him to continue managing, wrestling, and later working behind the scenes as well for the company.

I do want to say this. I want to say thank you to Tony Khan, because recently I signed an extension and I’ll be with AEW for quite a while in my current capacity and hopefully beyond in a managerial capacity and to whatever extent, possibly behind the scenes. I’m very happy where I’m at right now in my career at this stage to be able to continue to contribute to the business and make money with my friends and entertain at the level that we’re still able to maintain. I appreciate Tony Khan for giving me, Bobby and Shelton an opportunity to get the team back together for a final run and the future looks bright.

MVP just recently passed the one-year mark of his time in AEW, working alongside Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin in The Hurt Syndicate. The deal was his first major signing since departing the WWE roster in 2024, wrapping up a multi-year run with the promotion.

While he mainly works as the group’s manager, MVP has made numerous in-ring appearances as of late, most recently challenging The Opps for the AEW World Trios Championships last month.

The Hurt Syndicate is currently locked in a feud with Ricochet’s The Demand, which will continue at Full Gear when members of both factions compete in a Casino Gauntlet bout for the new AEW International Championship. Later in the interview, MVP offered praise for Ricochet, mentioning that he’s currently “doing the best work of his career … He’s brilliant. I love working with him.”
