John Cena to choose participants for NXT Iron Survivor matches

The participants for the Iron Survivor match at Deadline will be selected next week by the soon-to-be retiring John Cena.

During NXT Gold Rush, Ava stated that, unlike past years, where a panel of legends chose the participants, Cena would select all male and female participants for the matches at Deadline. The names will be revealed on next Tuesday’s Gold Rush episode of NXT.

The Iron Survivor matches were introduced in 2022, featuring five wrestlers. The concept sees two wrestlers start the match, and a new entrant joins every five minutes. Points are awarded for each pin, submission, or disqualification, with the loser of the fall entering a penalty box for ninety seconds. After twenty-five minutes, the wrestler with the most points wins.

Past winners include Grayson Waller, Roxanne Perez, Trick Williams, Blair Davenport, Oba Femi, and Giulia.

Deadline airs on Saturday, December 6, from the Boeing Center in San Antonio, Texas.
