JDC became the next contender for the TNA World Championship after beating Eric Young in the main event of Impact.

Thursday’s show from last week’s tapings at Full Sail University saw most of the lineup announced for its Final Resolution special on December 5 in El Paso, Texas.

JDC beat Eric Young in the main event, where a win would secure a title shot against the new champion, Frankie Kazarian. After blocking a piledriver, JDC and Young fought on the turnbuckle with Young knocked down and hit by the Down & Dirty to end the match.

Last week at Turning Point, JDC stated he would be retiring soon.

RESULTS:
*Dani Luna over Indi Hartwell, Rosemary & Myla Grace
*Mance Warner over Matt Cardona
*John Skyler over Myron Reed
*Xia Brookside over Killer Kelly, Jody Threat & Victoria Crawford
*JDC over Eric Young

#1 Contender’s Match for Knockouts Title

Xia Brookside and Dani Luna each won a four-way match, setting up a #1 contender’s match on the December 5 episode to determine who will challenge for the Knockouts title at Final Resolution.

Brookside defeated Killer Kelly, Jody Threat & Victoria Crawford after hitting the Brooksy Bomb on Kelly.

Luna beat Rosemary, Myla Grace & Rosemary after Rosemary introduced a chain. She was rammed into the post, and Luna grabbed hold of the weapon and nailed Hartwell with it to win.

Fair Warning

Mike Santana kicked off the show, addressing his title loss last week and why he disappeared. He said he was on top of the world and noted reaching 1,000 days of sobriety last week and losing everything the next day. He said, “It got dark,” and he attended a meeting after losing the title. His focus is on regaining the title from Frankie Kazarian, but first, he is going to eliminate the NXT invaders one by one, as he issued a warning.

The following was announced for the December 4 edition of Impact:

  • The Hardys, Cedric Alexander & Steve Maclin vs. High Ryze, Lexis King & Stacks Lorenzo
  • Mike Santana vs. Robert Stone
  • Brooks Jensen vs. The Home-Town Man
  • #1 Contender’s Match: Dani Luna vs. Xia Brookside

The next special is Final Resolution, and the following was added:

  • TNA Heavyweight Championship: Frankie Kazarian © vs. JDC
  • TNA Tag Team Championship: The Hardys © vs. High Ryze
  • TNA International Championship: Steve Maclin © vs. Stacks Lorenzo
  • X Division Championship: Leon Slater © vs. AJ Francis
  • Street Fight: Matt Cardona vs. Mance Warner

The episode was dedicated to photographer George Tahinos, who passed away last weekend, and it was a nice gesture by TNA.

Eric Young continues to play his role as the psychopath, which may end up with him being the “truth teller” as he accuses Santino Marella of being a “corporate puppet”. Marella was frustrated over how the NXT invaders got through security last week and then casually booked half of them in title matches for the next TNA special.

The NXT invaders cut a promo with Robert Stone, stating he was not the leader of the group. Charlie Dempsey mocked Mike Santana’s arm injury, and Brooks Jensen laughed about Nic Nemeth’s neck injury. Let’s just say this wasn’t the N.W.O. after Bash at the Beach ’96.

The Elegance Brand is searching for Mr. Elegance and features a cameo by Ash’s actual husband, Ulysses Diaz. We also had a direct reference to anabolic steroids in the segment.

Matt Cardona lost to Mance Warner after interference by Steph De Lander, who passed her purse to Warner. This match was filmed the next after Cardona’s appearance on SmackDown. Backstage, Cardona thought Warner was his “brother” and challenged him to a street fight at Final Resolution and noted he was the “Death Match King”. Expect blood.
