Claudio Castagnoli will face Gran Guerrero for the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship this Friday at Arena México.

CMLL released a video on social media on Tuesday featuring Castagnoli accepting an open challenge issued by the champion. In the clip, the AEW performer confirmed he would be making the trip to Mexico City.

Be careful what you wish for because I just got my visa to accept your challenge for the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship. The Death Riders — myself Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, and Daniel Garcia — are coming to Arena México. Hasta el viernes, ‘hermanito’.

Gran Guerrero issued the challenge to any AEW roster member during CMLL’s event on Sunday.

Castagnoli will not be travelling alone, as fellow Death Riders members Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia are also scheduled for championship action. The duo will challenge Ángel de Oro and Niebla Roja for the CMLL World Tag Team Championship.

The card will also feature the finals of the Leyenda Azul tournament involving Soberano Jr., Bárbaro Cavernario, and Místico.
