Former AJPW Triple Crown Champion Yuma Aoyagi will miss three months of in-ring action as a disciplinary measure following a car accident earlier this week.
AJPW announced Wednesday that Aoyagi, 30, was involved in a car accident on November 23, colliding with another car at an intersection after missing a red light. The other driver is currently being examined for a possible leg injury.
AJPW noted that Aoyagi was found to have an expired license following the incident.
Due to the accident, AJPW has suspended Aoyagi until February 28, 2026, and noted that he will receive a 50 percent pay cut for three months as well.
The recent development comes amid AJPW’s annual Real World Tag League, where Aoyagi was teaming with Yuma Anzai. Due to the suspension, the team has forfeited the remaining matches in the tour, which started just days ago.
Aoyagi has been a constant name in AJPW for over a decade, having worked over 900 matches for the promotion since 2014. He issued an apology on the social media platform X shortly after the news of his suspension broke.
