AEW Collision featured the continuation of the Continental Classic with Gold & Blue League matches and headlined by Konosuke Takeshita earning his first three points.
RESULTS
- Gold League: PAC (3) over Speedball Mike Bailey (0) – This was a very strong opener, especially the kicks from each. They went back-and-forth with front kicks, resulting in both going down and rolling outside of the ring. Bailey hit a Tornado kick but missed Ultima Weapon and was hit by a big running lariat, and Pac applied the Brutalizer, forcing Bailey to go to sleep.
- Daniel Garcia over Matt Menard – Jon Moxley was on commentary, and he was very good putting Garcia over. Menard bled, and after the last two weeks, it felt so ineffective for the purpose it should have served. Garcia placed Menard’s head next to the steps and dropkicked it. Menard was struggling to stand and did Garcia’s old dance before being struck and placed in the Bulldog choke, and went out.
- The Outrunners & Dalton Castle over MxM TV – It was a quick match with a cool spot involving Johnny TV taking Taya Valkyrie and powerbombing her into Castle on the floor. Castle hit suplexes to the three, Son of a Bitch elbow drop, and Castle hit the Bang-a-Rang on Mansoor. The priority was the angle with Michael Ray afterward.
- Eddie Kingston over Katsuyori Shibata – I really liked the finish because it came out of nowhere and was due to a DDT. Sometimes, it’s worth doing a surprise ending and educating the audience to believe other maneuvers can end a match. The highlight of this segment was the promo after the match by Kingston and leading toward a Samoa Joe vs. Eddie Kingston match for the title in two weeks.
- Thekla over Tay Melo – The crowd seemed tired, but they worked well together. Melo put up her hair to start her comeback and hit a Gotch piledriver for a two-count (and hit a 9 on the Ruby Soho scale for her reaction). Melo stopped one spear with a knee strike, but fell to the spear and a curb stomp at the end.
- Blue League: Konosuke Takeshita (3) over Roderick Strong (0) – Not off the charts but well wrestled. Strong took a nasty Blue Thunder Bomb from the floor and landed on top of the barricade. Takeshita hit another one inside the ring and used a Helluva kick. Takeshita avoided the Sick Kick and hit a Chaos Theory and ended the match with a power drive knee and Raging Fire. Nothing wrong with the match, but there were better tournament matches on Dynamite.
NEWS:
- Daniel Garcia stated that after he beat Matt Menard, he was going after the TNT Championship, which led to Mark Briscoe coming to the ring after Garcia’s win. Briscoe said he was thankful for being the champion and wouldn’t duck anyone, so Garcia made it easy to decide who he would face next. There was no date announced for the pending title match.
- Eddie Kingston beat Katsuyori Shibata clean with a DDT and then cut a spirited promo. He said that Hook was “still my boy” but that he’ll have to answer to Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland. Then, Kingston challenged Samoa Joe for an AEW Championship match at Winter is Coming on December 10 in Atlanta.
- FTR came out for their championship celebration and were interrupted by Juice Robinson & Austin Gunn. The duo bragged about winning $200,000 in the four-way match on the Tailgate Brawl and brought up their win against FTR on the November 8 edition of Collision in Houston. This was another future title match that was put together but not officially announced.
- Country singer Michael Ray was seated in the front row and greeted by Dalton Castle, his Trios match with The Outrunners. After beating MxM TV, Ricochet came out to distract as GOA attacked the winners. Then, Ricochet got into Ray’s face at ringside, and they had to hold Ray back. Hopefully, Ray doesn’t have any ties to the New York Giants.
- Rush is injured and off the Final Battle card next Friday. Bandido will now defend the ROH Championship in a Survival of the Fittest match against Hechicero, Sammy Guevara, Blake Christian, Komander, and Beast Mortos.
- Mercedes Mone will defend the ROH Women’s Television title against Red Velvet in a rematch at Final Battle.
- Thekla beat Tay Melo with a spear, and the Sisters of Sin attacked Melo. Jamie Hayter and Kris Statlander ran down to stop the Triangle of Madness.
- Brodido will continue to team, and despite Bandido blaming himself for the loss, Brody King says it’s not over between them, and they will continue to fight for those titles.
- If there was any confusion, they made it very clear that Kazuchika Okada’s Continental Championship is at stake in the tournament, and not the entire Unified Championship. The Continental Championship was displayed on the announcer’s desk throughout the show.
AEW Dynamite lineup – December 3 in Fishers, Indiana:

- Gold League: Kyle Fletcher (3) vs. Kevin Knight (3)
- Blue League: Claudio Castagnoli (3) vs. Jon Moxley (3)
