It’s still anyone’s tournament to win in the B Block of NJPW’s 2025 World Tag League.

All eight teams in the B Block remain in the hunt, including four duos who are currently tied for first place in the Round Robin standings following Wednesday night’s action in Shizuoka, Japan.

Among the four teams sitting atop the standings with six points is the duo of Shota Umino and Yuya Uemura, who overcame David Finlay and Hiromu Takahashi in a nearly 19-minute main event today.

The back-and-forth battle came to an end after the duo gave Takahashi a lariat and German Suplex double-team move, them Umino hit his Second Chapter finisher for the pinfall victory.

Despite having a slow start to the tournament, IWGP Tag Team Champions OSKAR and Yuto-Ice have worked their way up to a first-place tie after their win over Zack Sabre Jr. and Ryohei Oiwa on Wednesday. Following a long and epic battle, the Knock Out Brothers scored their double-team KOB head kick and tombstone piledriver onto Oiwa for the pinfall win.

The Knockout Brothers fell behind in the tournament early with two consecutive losses, but have since rallied back with three straight wins in recent Block matchups.

An attempt at dirty tactics from House of Torture’s SANADA and Ren Narita came back to bite them on Wednesday. After a failed run-in from SHO and Dick Togo, Great-O-Khan bashed a guitar over the head of SANADA then hit his Eliminator finisher, earning him and Callum Newman six points, tying them up with the rest of the top teams in the B Block. Narita and SANADA would’ve pulled ahead of everyone with eight points had they prevailed.

The team of Hiroshi Tanahashi and El Phantasmo remained alive on Wednesday night, beating the Monstersauce duo of Alex Zayne and Lance Archer to earn their second win of the tournament. As Tanahashi delivered a crossbody to the outside (which didn’t get caught, causing a rough landing), Phantasmo gave Zayne a Thunderkiss 86 in the ring for the pinfall win. A successful tournament seems unlikely for Tanahashi and Phantasmo with just four points, but they remain mathematically alive following their latest win.

While all teams remain alive in the B Block, two have already been eliminated from the World Tag League’s A Division, with just six still in the hunt. Block action will continue on Friday from Osaka with a card headline by Gabe Kidd & Yota Tsuji taking on Bishamon.
