Sports Entertainer vs. Professional Wrestler

Raw from Kansas City kicked off with Gunther cutting an in-ring promo saying that John Cena was the best Sports Entertainer of all time, but he was the best Professional Wrestler. Gunther proclaimed that he would make Cena give up.

Iyo Sky vs. Kairi Sane

The opening matchup saw Iyo Sky, accompanied by Rhea Ripley, taking on Kairi Sane with Asuka in her corner. NXT Champion Oba Femi was shown in the front row before the match began, and commentary noted he would be facing the WWE Champion this weekend at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Asuka got involved early in the match, and Ripley tried to stop it but was not successful.

After an ad break, things went back and forth until Asuka took out Sky when she sent up for Over the Moonsault. Ripley then took Asuka out for her efforts, and Iyo finally hit her moonsault for the win. After the match, the commentary team noted that Sky and Ripley were well-positioned for a Tag Title shot.

Logan Paul approached The Vision backstage and said something had to be done about Rey Mysterio. Bron Breakker said they’ll handle it tonight and then Logan pulled Paul Heyman aside. Paul offered himself as The Brons’ backup if they had his back, and Heyman handed Logan his golden brass knuckles.

A pre-produced War Raiders video aired, hyping them up ahead of the title shot later tonight.

Rey Mysterio came out to the ring for his match against Finn Balor, but was jumped in the aisle by Logan Paul. Paul attempted to use the brass knuckles, but Mysterio was able to recover when the Masked Mystery Man appeared and took Mysterio out before escaping through the crowd. Logan then successfully hit Rey with the brass knuckles when LA Knight ran down to chase him off. Knight got on the mic and challenged Logan Paul to a match tonight.

World Tag Team Championship

Before the next match began, Je’Von Evans was shown in the crowd, and it was announced that he and TNA X Division Champion Leon Slater would take on AJ Styles & Dragon Lee at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The New Day and Grayson Waller appeared at ringside as the match began. The momentum shifted between the two teams, and at one point, Dragon Lee legit attempted to hoist Ivar onto his shoulders three times in a row, only to fail each time. From there, the teams had a few impressive spots but also had some clunky ones. Finally, the champs retained after Styles hit the Phenomenal Forearm.

The New Day got into the ring after the match when suddenly The Usos appeared. Side note: weirdly, Jimmy and Jey enter to Jey’s music with the lyrics “It’s just me, Uce”. The champions and New Day just stood in the ring as The Usos did their complete elaborate entrance. Jimmy announced that The Usos were back in the tag team division after they had had a lot of losses lately. Jey said they needed gold and punched The New Day, then had a stare-down with Styles and Lee.

Who’s Next for Vaquer?

Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer was interviewed in the ring and asked who her next opponent would be. Vaquer ran down some potential opponents from the roster when Nikki Bella interrupted, demanding a rematch. Raquel Rodriguez jumped Nikki from behind and took her out. Rodriguez said for Vaquer to name the time and the place, and she would take her title.
