Nic Nemeth will be celebrated for his career in both professional wrestling and amateur wrestling next year.
45-year-old Nemeth, who set the record for most career wins while at Kent State University as an amateur wrestler before beginning a multi-decade career inside the squared circle, will be inducted into the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame next year. His forthcoming induction was announced by the Hall of Fame on Wednesday afternoon.
The Hall of Fame was established in 1999 to recognize those who have achieved success in both professional and amateur wrestling.
While best known for his career in professional wrestling, spending nearly 20 years in the WWE as Dolph Ziggler before hitting the indies in 2023 and working in TNA, Nemeth was a decorated amateur wrestler as well.
Nemeth took the St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio to State Championships on two occasions, then later put up records while at Kent State University and winning three Mid-American Conference Championships.
He’ll be joining an illustrious list featuring other recent inductees to the Hall of Fame, like Mike Rotunda, Bruno Sammartino, Owen Hart, and Dan Severn.
The Hall of Fame will also give the 2026 Verne Gagne Trainer Award to Jazz and Rodney Mack, owners of the San Antonio-based wrestling gym Dogg Pound Championship Wrestling.
The official ceremony will take place in July 2026 in Waterloo, Iowa, where the Hall of Fame is located.
