Friday Night SmackDown moves back to three hour format in January

Friday Night SmackDown will officially move back to three hours at the start of the new year.

On Friday’s episode, Michael Cole announced that the move to three hours will begin on January 2 with the episode from Buffalo, New York.

This appears to be the permanent format for SmackDown on the USA Network, which aired in a three-hour format from January until the end of June and moved back to two hours for the second half of the year.
