World Tag Team Champions AJ Styles and Dragon Lee defeated Je’Von Evans and Leon Slater in a non-title match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

The match featured a cross-promotional team of NXT’s Evans and TNA X-Division Champion Slater facing the main roster champions in Washington, D.C.

The challengers began the match with a high-speed offense, utilizing superkicks and dives to the floor to subdue Styles and Lee early on. After isolating Lee, the champions responded with a sit-out powerbomb from Lee and a series of strikes from Styles.

The closing stretch saw Evans hit a springboard cutter on Styles, followed immediately by a Swanton 450 splash from Slater. Lee broke up the subsequent pinfall attempt before diving onto Evans on the outside.

Inside the ring, Styles attempted a Phenomenal Forearm but slipped on the top rope, allowing Slater to cover him for a near-fall. Slater ascended the turnbuckles for a follow-up attack, but Styles caught him in mid-air and executed the Styles Clash for the pinfall victory.

Following the match, all four competitors embraced in the ring and then saluted to pay homage to John Cena.
