Andrade El Idolo has stated that he received legal permission from WWE to return to the ring in Puerto Rico on Saturday night.

The performer will appear at the World Wrestling Council’s ‘Lockout’ event in Bayamón despite an ongoing non-compete issue.

Speaking with Sportskeeda, Andrade claimed his lawyer secured a signed letter from WWE clearing him for Saturday’s event. He noted that there had been ongoing discussions regarding a 12-month restriction on his ability to compete.

I want to say thank you to my lawyer because my lawyer now has a letter from the WWE…Today my lawyer texted me and told me that, “Andrade, I have a letter signed that you can participate tonight in Puerto Rico in the company WWC”.

Andrade previously made a solitary appearance for AEW before the contractual status regarding his WWE departure halted his booking. He expressed a desire to return to the promotion but confirmed the current exemption is a one-time occurrence.

I hope [to be] back soon to AEW. I don’t know when I’ll be back. But now the letter is just for the show for Puerto Rico.

The 36-year-old is scheduled to challenge Xavant for the WWC Universal Heavyweight Championship. He told the outlet that he had been “at home for three or four months”, unable to perform due to his contractual restrictions.

He also reflected on participating in Ric Flair’s Last Match. Andrade admitted he was scared during the contest and unaware that Flair had suffered a medical episode in the ring.

I didn’t know. I didn’t know this happened. I look at him like, hey, you look like you [wrestled] better than a guy 20 years old…I didn’t know nothing about the [heart attack], all these things.

WWC Lockout takes place tonight at the Cancha Pepín Cestero.
