Former UFC fighter Alex “The Dominican Nightmare” Garcia has been arrested in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, as part of a multi-million dollar drug bust.

Garcia was among three suspects arrested last week as part of a raid which seized 102 kilograms of cocaine, per a report by local news outlet CTV News Montreal. Authorities believe the seizure obtained narcotics worth more than $2.3 million in total.

Garcia has been charged with drug trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime, similar to what the other two suspects are facing.

38-year-old Garcia had a seven-fight run with the UFC from 2013 to 2018.

After facing notable opponents like Sean Strickland and Neil Magny, and earning wins over Mike Swick and Muslim Salikhov, Garcia was released by the promotion in 2018 following back-to-back losses.

Garcia made a pair of post-UFC appearances in Russian-based promotion ACA, suffering finish losses in both outings.

Garcia resides in Montreal, where he trained out of the prolific Tristar Gym led by Firas Zahabi.
