It looks as though WWE’s JD McDonagh will be on the sidelines for a little while following surgery.

McDonagh posted a social media update on Monday from a hospital bed, with a photo showing his right hand in a cast. The post’s caption hinted at needing some time away to recover.

“Been working thru some stuff for the last few months, but now is the time to pump the brakes and get put back together,” McDonagh wrote via Instagram Story. “Won’t be long, BRB.”

The exact injury McDonagh might have suffered isn’t known, nor is what he specifically was treated for recently. Because of this, it’s hard to gauge how long the two-time WWE World Tag Team Champion could be on the sidelines for.

McDonagh has spent most of 2025 on Monday Night Raw as part of Judgment Day. He was already sidelined for three months earlier this year after a nasty bump onto an announce table gave him broken ribs and a punctured lung.

McDonagh has been wrestling consistently since he returned on the episode of Raw after Wrestlemania in April.
