Andrade returned to the US independent scene on Friday to confront HOG World Heavyweight Champion Charles Mason.
The former WWE star appeared unannounced at the Winter Warfare event on December 19. He entered the ring to face Mason, laying out the champion with a hammerlock DDT before raising the title belt to the crowd.

On Saturday morning, Andrade addressed the appearance on X with a challenge directed at the champion.

This marks his first US appearance since a dispute arose regarding his WWE non-compete clause.
Andrade was pulled from AEW programming shortly after his one-off return at the Dynamite Sixth Anniversary show amid reports that WWE had enforced a one-year restriction following his release for cause.
Despite the contract dispute, he competed in Puerto Rico last week. Andrade captured the WWC Universal Championship from Xavant on December 14.
Regarding that booking, the performer stated he received a letter from WWE permitting him to work that specific date just hours before the show began.
