Jake Paul has undergone successful surgery after suffering a broken jaw during his loss to Anthony Joshua.

The 28-year-old sustained the injury before Anthony Joshua stopped him in the sixth round of their heavyweight encounter. Paul stated immediately after the contest that he suspected a fracture.

On Saturday, Jake Paul confirmed on social media that he suffered breaks in two places and had completed the procedure. He thanked the staff at Miami University Hospital and noted he is restricted to a liquid diet.

Just got out of surgery. Everything went smooth. Thanks for all the love. Lots of pain and stiffness. Gotta eat liquids for 7 days. S/o to the amazing team at Miami University hospital. Everyone was so gracious and caring.

Logan Paul posted a brief statement on Instagram regarding his brother’s performance. He called Jake a “warrior” and said his spirit remained unbroken.

The result marked the second defeat of Jake Paul’s professional boxing career and his first by stoppage. He indicated on Friday that he plans to take time off before returning to the cruiserweight division.

Prior to the fight, Paul told Bleacher Report he would be open to a WWE run alongside his brother. He suggested a role as a manager for Logan Paul if the opportunity arose.

I would be down. I think he’s incredible. I would love to be his Paul Heyman, his manager of some sort, and maybe we can run some matches, for sure.
