A rematch for the NXT Women’s North American Championship is set for New Year’s Evil.
One week after Thea Hail’s “accidental” title win over Blake Monroe, they have set a rematch for January 6 on the next televised special.

Last week, Hail landed on Monroe with a springboard senton, and Monroe was unable to kick out. It forced the referee to count three, and the NXT acknowledged it as a title change even though it was not the planned outcome.
On Tuesday’s episode (taped last week at the Performance Center), Thea Hail addressed the crowd and was interrupted by a distraught Monroe, who challenged her to a rematch, and Hail named the January 6 date.
NXT is taped next Tuesday, and New Year’s Evil will be the show’s next live episode.
