Penta made his return to WWE television on Monday, appearing on Raw to rescue Rey Mysterio from an attack by Austin Theory and Logan Paul.

The masked star had been absent from programming for over a month following a legitimate injury sustained in the ring.

The return occurred after a singles match between Mysterio and Theory. The contest ended in a disqualification when Logan Paul interfered, attacking Mysterio to cause the stoppage.

Paul and Theory continued to beat down Mysterio after the bell until Penta came out for the save. The segment marks Penta’s first physical involvement since late November.

Penta had been sidelined since the November 24 episode of Raw, where he competed in the “Last Time Is Now” tournament to determine John Cena’s final opponent. He was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Solo Sikoa in a match that was stopped by the referee due to injury.

The shoulder injury reportedly occurred during a hurricanrana spot to the outside of the ring.
