A return to Mexico is in the plans for AEW’s upcoming year.
Tony Khan confirmed to Case Lowe of Q101 that a follow-up to Grand Slam Mexico is expected in 2026, citing its ongoing relationship with CMLL.
AEW held the first Mexican edition of Grand Slam this past June at the famed Arena Mexico. The television special featured Lucha talent Místico, Atlantis, Atlantis Jr., Templario, Volador Jr., Hechicero, Beast Mortos, Zeuxis, and Mascara Dorada.
Khan said he “can’t wait to go back”, adding that there are other cities in Mexico he would like to visit. He praised working with CMLL president, Salvador Lutteroth.
AEW’s Grand Slam shows began as annual events at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York but expanded to internationally branded shows in Australia and Mexico in 2025.
The next version of Grand Slam is slated for February 14 in Sydney, Australia.
