Welcome to POST Wrestling’s latest TV Guide! We usually publish a TV guide each Friday, presenting a preview of the best viewing options for the weekend. However, since there is a decent amount of wrestling taking place earlier in the week as well, we decided to put out a jumbo edition of the article this time around, covering all the notable cards from Wednesday to Sunday.
If you don’t know what to watch in the coming days, we got you! Here’s a preview of when everything is going down and where you can catch all of the action.
Wednesday
AEW Dynamite: New Year’s Smash / 8 p.m. ET / TBS
Celebrate 2026 with a special “New Year’s Smash” episode of AEW Dynamite tonight, going live from the Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Ralston, Nebraska.
Serving as the first episode of TV since AEW’s Worlds End pay-per-view, a few big segments have been confirmed for tonight’s card.
Appearing for the first time since since snatching the AEW World Championship from Samoa Joe in a four-way match, MJF will appear on tonight’s card.
Looking to get revenge after suffering a pinfall loss in tag action, TBS Champion Mercedes Moné will face rival Willow Nightingale, who she is one-for-two against in the past. And after pinning him on Saturday’s card, Jungle Jack Perry will try to end Ricochet’s run as the inaugural AEW National Champion.
Want to watch something before you head out for a NYE celebration, or simply crave some wrestling as you stay home for the new year? Either way, this isn’t a bad option:
- AEW World Champion MJF to appear
- Jon Moxley vs. Josh Alexander (AEW Continental Championship Eliminator)
- Mercedes Moné vs. Willow Nightingale (TBS Championship)
- Ricochet vs. Jungle Jack Perry (AEW National Championship)
GCW Do or Die / 8 p.m. ET / TrillerTV+
If you aren’t interested in catching tonight’s Dynamite, maybe ring in the new year with some GCW? The prominent U.S. indie will be live on Friday night with Do or Die from Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. The lineup features a “Six Feet Under” deathmatch between Shotzi Blackheart and Priscilla Kelly, a Street Fight between GCW vets Joey Janela and KJ Orso, and a six-man tag match which I believe could be totally nuts, with VNDL48 taking on Matt Tremont, Ciclope and Dr. Redcated.
- Joey Janela vs. KJ Orso (Street Fight)
- Shotzi Blackheart vs. Priscilla Kelly (Six Feet Under Deathmatch)
- Zackary Wentz vs. 1 Called Manders
- VNDL48 vs. Matt Tremont, Ciclope & Dr. Redacted
- Vipress vs. Emersyn Jayne
- Don Freeze vs. Jimmy Lloyd
- Griffin McCoy vs. Terry Yaki
Thursday
NOAH THE NEW YEAR / 12:30 a.m. ET / Wrestle Universe
2026 will officially get started with Pro Wrestling NOAH’s THE NEW YEAR, a stacked card from the iconic Budokan in Tokyo, Japan.
There are tons of notable matchups up and down this card: The Good Brothers will return to NOAH for the first time since 2012 against Kaito Kiyomiya and Jack Morris, BUSHI and a surprise tag partner will challenge for the GHC tag belts, NJPW’s Hiromu Takahashi will try to prevent AMAKUSA from beginning a third junior heavyweight title reign, a PROGRESS title on the line, and more.
But the main focus will be on GHC Heavyweight Champion Yoshiki Inamura, who will be defending against the returning OZAWA. This pits two of NOAH’s up-and-coming stars against each other: OZAWA won the top NOAH title early this year shortly after returning from an excursion in the U.K., putting together a nearly 200-day reign with the belt. Back after a three-month absence due to injury, he now looks to take down Inamura, who similarly snagged the belt following a lengthy overseas stint in NXT.
They both had big moments in 2025. Who will carry that momentum through into the new year?
- Daga & Daiki Odashima vs. Alejandro & Kai Fujimura vs. Eita & Shuji Kondo (GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships)
- Masa Kitamiya, Takashi Sugiura, Tadasuke & Jun Masaoka vs. Kazuyuki Fujita, Minoru Suzuki, Shuhei Taniguchi & Junta Miyawaki
- Will Kroos vs. Saxon Huxley (PROGRESS Atlas Championship)
- KENTA, Ulka Sasaki, Tetsuya Endo & HAYATA vs. Atsushi Kotoge, Muhammad Yone, Hajime Ohara & Hi69
- Dragon Bane vs. Alpha Wolf (GHC National Championship)
- Kaito Kiyomiya & Jack Morris vs. Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows
- Naomichi Marufuji & Kenoh vs. BUSHI & TBA (GHC Tag Team Championships)
- Hiromu Takahashi vs. AMAKUSA (GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship)
- Yoshiki Inamura vs. OZAWA (GHC Heavyweight Championship)
TNA iMPACT! / 8 p.m. ET / AXS TV
In one of their final programs before kicking off a major TV deal with AMC, TNA iMPACT! will air on Thursday night on AXS. The taped show will include a title shot for ex-AEW talent Bear Bronson, who made a splash upon joining TNA by winning a #1 contender 20-man battle royal. He’ll be trying to end the reign of Frankie Kazarian, which controversially started earlier this year by unseating Mike Santana.
- Stacks & Arianna Grace to appear
- Indi Hartwell, Jody Threat & Jada Stone vs. Tessa Blanchard, Victoria Crawford & Mila Moore
- Mustafa Ali vs. Hometown Man
- Lei Ying Lee & Xia Brookside vs. M & Heather By Elegance
- Frankie Kazarian vs. Bear Bronson (TNA World Championship)
Friday
WWE Friday Night Smackdown / 8 p.m. ET / USA Network
A new three-hour era for Friday Night Smackdown will begin this weekend when WWE heads to the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York.
The women’s tag division will be on display as part of the three-hour program, with former tag champs Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair teaming with RhIYO to take on The Kabuki Warriors and the duo of Lash Legend and Nia Jax. Also in the women’s division, world champion Jade Cargill will face Michin with the belt on the line.
After previously meeting in a Last Man Standing bout and a mixed tag match, the seemingly never-ending feud between Aleister Black and Damian Priest will continue this weekend with an Ambulance Match.
With an extra hour to fill, expect much more to happen than what has been announced thus far. It’s more than likely that we’ll see an appearance from Cody Rhodes and/or Drew McIntyre, as they continue to build the fourth bout in their current rivalry.
- Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair, IYO SKY & Rhea Ripley vs. Lash Legend, Nia Jax, Asuka & Kairi Sane
- Aleister Black vs. Damian Priest (Ambulance Match)
- Jade Cargill vs. Michin (WWE Women’s Championship)
Saturday
MARIGOLD First Dream 2026 / 12:10 a.m. ET / Wrestle Universe PPV
Joshi promotion MARIGOLD will head to the Ota City General Gymnasium on Saturday morning for the second-annual First Dream 2026, one of the promotion’s biggest cards of the year.
The main event will see Miku Aono defend her MARIGOLD World Championship for the first time since ending Utami Hayashishita’s reign in Ryogoku Sumo Hall a couple of months back. She’ll face Mai Sakurai, the woman who ended her run as United National Champion a year ago. Aono has failed to overcome Sakurai in their three past MARIGOLD singles meetings. Will she be able to produce a different result in their highest-stakes battle yet?
Earlier in the night, GHC Women’s Champion Takumi Iroha will defend her title on a MARIGOLD card for the second time, taking on Mayu Iwatani. Iroha’s reign since June has included a 56-minute matchup from earlier this year against Hayashishita, which ended in a double knockout.
Also in the lineup, 20-year-old breakout talent Victoria Yuzuki will try to carry her 2025 momentum into the new year, defending her MARIGOLD United National Championship for the third time in a meeting against Shoko Koshino.
This is an enticing lineup for sure. The one setback for some viewers is that it will be a pay-per-view program with an asking price of 3,600 yen (roughly $23 USD).
- Seri Yamaoka, Shinno & CoCo vs. Kizuna Tanaka, Komomo Minami & Yuuka Yamazaki
- Kouki Amarei, Natsumi Showzuki & Hummingbird vs. Nao Ishikawa, Nagisa Tachibana & Momoka Hanazono
- Megaton Challenge
- Utami Hayashishita vs. Chika Goto
- Misa Matsui & CHIAKI vs. Nagisa Nozaki & Rea Seto (MARIGOLD Twin Star Championships)
- Victoria Yuzuki vs. Shoko Koshino (MARIGOLD United National Championship)
- Takumi Iroha vs. Mayu Iwatani (GHC Women’s Championship)
- Miku Aono vs. Mai Sakurai (MARIGOLD World Championship)
DDT New Year Dramatic Parade / 4 a.m. ET / Wrestle Universe
DDT will head to Korakuen Hall on Saturday afternoon for their first show of 2026, New Year Dramatic Parade. Most of the show will be announced in a “New Year Dash” fashion, meaning we won’t know about the show until it officially begins.
However, it was confirmed that the event will include a bout for the KO-D Six-Man Tag Team Championships, with the team of Yuki Ueno, Kaisei Takchi and To-y looking to defend against MAO, KANON and Kazuma Sumi.
- Yuki Ueno, To-y & Kaisei Takechi vs. MAO, KANON & Kazuma Sumi (KO-D Six-Man Tag Team Championships)
AEW Collision / 8 p.m. ET / TNT
From Saturday to Sunday, it’ll be an incredibly busy 48 hours in the Japanese wrestling space. However, it’s worth noting that there will also be action going down stateside, as AEW Collision will air live from the Esports Arena in Arlington, Texas on Saturday evening. This event will be the first of four Collision tapings set to take place in the Arlington venue during January.
Nothing has been announced for this show just yet, although we’ll likely have a better picture of what to expect once this evening’s episode of Dynamite wraps.
TJPW Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling ’26 / 8 p.m. ET / Wrestle Universe
As is tradition for TJPW, the prominent Joshi promotion will present a Korakuen Hall card on the afternoon of NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom lineup this weekend. Tokyo Joshi Pro’s 1.4 card is traditionally one of the company’s biggest cards of the year, both in its turnout and booking decisions.
The main event will see long-time TJPW wrestler Suzume attempt to earn her first-ever reign with the Princess of Princess Championship (the promotion’s top title), looking to end the second run of Miu Watanabe. TJPW is quite protective of who breaks into the promotion’s upper echelon and carries the top title, as just three first-time champions have been crowned since 2020. Is now the time for seven-year TJPW vet Suzume to finally break into that exclusive club?
Lower on the card, former MARIGOLD wrestler MIRAI will make her first appearance in TJPW since 2021, challenging Arisu Endo for her International Princess Championship. Some fun will also be had with comedy matchups, including the annual one-on-one bout between Shoko Nakajima and Hyper Misao.
TJPW’s 1.4 card is not anywhere near the biggest card of the week. However, I have found it to consistently be an enjoyable show over the years, hence why it’s getting the spotlight here.
- Uta Takami & Anri vs. Ren Konatsu & Shion
- Yuna Manase, Toga & Chika Nanase vs. HIMAWARI, Shino Suzuki & Kira Summer
- Aja Kong vs. Rika Tatsumi vs. Mahiro Kiryu
- Shoko Nakajima vs. Hyper Misao
- Miyu Yamashita & Kaya Toribami vs. J-ROD & Mifu Ashida
- Yuka Sakazaki, Mizuki & Yuki Arai vs. MAX The Impaler, Raku & Pom Harajuku
- Arisu Endo vs. MIRAI (TJPW International Princess Championship)
- Yuki Kamifuku & Wakana Uehara vs. Yuki Aino & Haru Kazashiro (TJPW Princess Tag Team Championships)
- Miu Watanabe vs. Suzume (TJPW Princess of Princess Championship)
Sunday
NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20 / 2 a.m. ET / NJPW World
NJPW’s biggest show of the year, Wrestle Kingdom 20, has what could best be described as a triple main event this year in the Tokyo Dome.
The headlining act will see Hiroshi Tanahashi put a close to his 26-year in-ring career, retiring against current AEW talent and past rival Kazuchika Okada. Tanahashi was a lifer for NJPW, recording an astounding 2,800 matches with the company since 1999. The “Ace” will continue to remain present with the promotion under the role of President going forward, but this weekend will be the final time to see him in the ring. The eight-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion has faced Okada in three past Wrestle Kingdoms and will try to take down “The Rainmaker” one last time before calling it a career.
The co-main event will see IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Konosuke Takeshita meet IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji in a title-versus-title clash. While this isn’t anywhere near as hyped a matchup as Tanahashi’s retirement, it’s arguably the biggest position in both of their careers thus far. For Tsuji, one of the rising names on the NJPW roster in recent years, it could be a major crowning moment to take down Takeshita in the Tokyo Dome.
And, before that, 2020 Tokyo Olympics Judo gold medalist Aaron Wolf will make his highly anticipated professional wrestling debut. NJPW has hyped Wolf’s first in-ring appearance ever since they announced his signing back in June, and it has been clear that there is significant interest from the public to see how he will do. He could earn gold in his debut matchup, as House of Torture’s EVIL will be wagering his NEVER Openweight Championship against him.
There’s a lot more to mention on this show. The undercard includes a one-on-one matchup between stand-out Joshi stars Syuri and 2025 Tokyo Sports MVP Saya Kamitani. If given an adequate amount of time, I believe their bout could be one of the stronger parts of the night. In a 10-man tag match, Andrade El Idolo will return to NJPW to team with United Empire along with a mystery opponent who has yet to be revealed. Wrestle Kingdom is, like Wrestlemania or All In, a can’t-miss card as per usual.
- El Phantasmo vs. Chris Brookes (NJPW World Television Championship) (Pre-Show)
- Master Wato, Toru Yano & YOH vs. Ryusuke Taguchi, Tiger Mask & Togi Makabe vs. Kaisei Takechi, Shota Umino & Yuya Uemura vs. Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI & Boltin Oleg vs. Satoshi Kojima, Taichi & Tomohiro Ishii vs. Ren Narita, SANADA & Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs. Hartley Jackson, Ryohei Oiwa & Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Clark Connors, OSKAR & Yuto-Ice (NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championships) (Rambo Match)
- Syuri vs. Saya Kamitani (IWGP Women’s Championship & NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship)
- Andrade El Idolo, Callum Newman, Great-O-Khan, HENARE & TBA vs. David Finlay, Drilla Moloney, Gabe Kidd, Hiromu Takahashi & Shingo Takagi
- Taiji Ishimori vs. El Desperado vs. SHO vs. Kosei Fujita (IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship #1 Contenders Match)
EVIL vs. Aaron Wolf (NEVER Openweight Championship) - Konosuke Takeshita vs. Yota Tsuji (IWGP World Heavyweight Championship & IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship)
- Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Kazuchika Okada
