Former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion EC3 says his run with the promotion has come to a close.

The former TNA and WWE wrestler announced his departure from NWA via social media on Thursday.

“My time with the National Wrestling Alliance has come to an end,” EC3 wrote on X. “I’m grateful for the opportunities I was given and the people I shared the work with. The Top 1% was never a ‘gimmick.’ It is a standard. Future actions will reflect that.

EC3 made his NWA debut back in 2022 at the promotion’s 74th anniversary card. By early 2023, it was announced that he had signed a deal with the promotion.

Among the more than 60 matches he worked for the promotion was a 2023 win over a retiring Tyrus to capture the promotion’s top title. He would go on to hold the championship until August 2024, when he dropped it to Thom Latimer in a 16-minute bout.

During his time with the company, EC3’s Cleveland-based Exodus Pro Wrestling served as a territory for NWA. They co-promoted over a dozen shows together, including an event just last month.

EC3 isn’t the only name to depart NWA this week. Fightful reported on Thursday that Colby Corino’s deal with the promotion has also expired.
