A rare independent wrestling appearance from MJF this month will see him put his AEW World Championship on the line.
MJF revealed on Thursday that he will be wagering his newly-won title when he appears at Limitless Wrestling’s “Limitless Rumble” event on January 16 in Lewiston, Maine, against Alec Price.
MJF explained in a social media post that he wants to face Price because he’s cocky but can back up his credentials.

“You remind me a lot of a young MJF,” he said. “So I figured, what better way than to start the new year than to bring in the biggest, grandest prize possible for Limitless Wrestling? Alec Price, fame comes with a price. Will you rise to the occasion? If I hold onto my Triple B until my return to Limitless Wrestling, I will be putting it on the line against you. And let’s be honest, I ain’t losing this thing for a long, long time.”
MJF wrestled in Limitless Wrestling from 2017 to 2019, with most matches coming prior to his time in AEW. He briefly held their top title near the end of his run, dropping it to Anthony Greene in his last appearance.
MJF has only made a few non-AEW appearances in recent years. In 2025, he only wrestled for AEW and CMLL. His last booking on the U.S. indies dates back to late 2024.
As MJF highlighted in his promo, there’s a chance he could lose his belt before the upcoming appearance. He’s first expected to wager his championship on a January 14 episode of Dynamite, meeting Dynamite Diamond Ring holder Bandido.
