Drew McIntyre touched down in Glasgow on Saturday, just hours after capturing the Undisputed WWE Championship in Berlin.

In a video posted to social media, McIntyre was filmed walking out of Glasgow Airport arrivals with the title belt over his shoulder. The 40-year-old is scheduled to appear at tonight’s WWE Live event at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow.

I said I was bringing this title home. It took a few years but I never lie. I’m officially on Scottish soil as WWE Champion. I would say it’s surreal, but It’s not. It was just a matter of time. Thank God I am home. I went to university 30 minutes from here — that’s a lie, probably 15 minutes from here. I grew up 40 minutes from here.

McIntyre defeated Cody Rhodes in the main event of Friday Night SmackDown to begin his third reign with the WWE Championship. The title change occurred in a Three Stages of Hell match, with the deciding fall contested inside a Steel Cage.

The win concludes Rhodes’ title reign and marks a significant homecoming for McIntyre, who was born in nearby Ayr and holds a master’s degree in criminology from Glasgow Caledonian University.
