Konosuke Takeshita will challenge El Phantasmo for the NJPW World TV Championship at New Beginning USA in February.

New Japan Pro Wrestling confirmed on Friday night that the title match will take place on February 27, 2026, at the CURE Arena in Trenton.

Both men competed at Wrestle Kingdom 20 earlier this month, where Phantasmo retained his title on the kickoff show. Takeshita subsequently lost the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship to Yota Tsuji in the semi-main event of the Tokyo Dome card.

The pairing faced off again at New Year Dash on January 5. Takeshita pinned Shoma Kato in a tag team match that saw him team with Rocky Romero against Phantasmo and Kato.

This upcoming contest marks the fifth singles meeting between the rivals. Takeshita holds two previous wins, while Phantasmo secured his only victory during the G1 Climax last summer. Their previous TV Title match at Wrestling Dontaku last May ended in a time-limit draw.

The championship operates under a 15-minute time limit, a duration Phantasmo barely exceeded when he defeated Takeshita in 15 minutes and two seconds during the G1.

NJPW also announced that double champion Yota Tsuji will compete at the event. It marks the first match in the United States for the IWGP Heavyweight and Global Champion in 14 months.
