Dwayne Johnson was unsuccessful in his bid for a Golden Globe Award on Sunday evening.
Johnson was nominated in the Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama category but lost to Wagner Moura.
Moura won the award for his performance in ‘The Secret Agent’, topping a field that also included Oscar Isaac, Michael B. Jordan, Joel Edgerton, and Jeremy Allen White.
It marked the first Golden Globe nomination for Johnson, who portrayed MMA fighter Mark Kerr in the film. His co-star Emily Blunt also missed out on the Best Supporting Actress award, which went to Teyana Taylor for ‘One Battle After Another’.
NXT General Manager Ava attended the ceremony to support her father. She was accompanied by her partner, WWE Performance Center prospect Tatyanna Dumas.
Ava commented on the result on X:

‘The Smashing Machine’ was released in October 2025 and depicts Kerr’s career and his struggles with addiction. Directed by Benny Safdie, the A24 release underperformed at the box office, earning just $21 million.
Johnson has several future projects in production, including a live-action version of ‘Moana’.
