Tag Team Turmoil
WWE Raw from Düsseldorf kicked off with Michael Cole noting that it had been almost 29 years since Monday Night Raw last emanated from Germany, and that it was the first time it had ever occurred in Düsseldorf. With that, the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley came down to the ring. The champs said they had finally put The Kabuki Warriors behind them, and they were ready to take on any team of challengers.

This brought out Roxanne Perez and Liv Morgan, with Morgan noting that she never lost the tag titles. Bayley and Lyra Valkyria were out next, who pointed out that Perez was the one who lost the titles for The Judgment Day. Bayley noted that she beat Roxanne recently, so they were most deserving of a title shot. All six women started arguing when the Kabuki Warriors appeared and attacked the rest of the teams. Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley stood tall as the segment ended. Later, it was announced that the three teams would compete in a triple threat #1 Contender’s match later tonight.

Backstage, Liv Morgan berated Finn Balor for playing video games, telling him to get himself a title shot.
AJ Styles was interviewed, saying that this business was about respect and he was going to teach Gunther respect when he makes him tap out later tonight, calling him a bitch.

Je’Von Evans vs. Bravo Americano
The first match of the evening saw new Raw signing Je’Von Evans taking on Bravo Americano. Both Rayo and Grande Americanos played a hand in the early portion of the match, allowing Bravo to gain a brief advantage, only to be outdone by Evans’ high-flying moveset. Michael Cole repeatedly referred to Bravo being “very familiar” as he executed an airplane spin, noting that Bravo had family in Germany, and Wade Barrett quickly shut it down. Evans picked up the win after hitting a Spanish Fly from the top rope, followed by the OG Cutter. After the match, Los Americanos threw Evans over the announce desk, but then leaped over the announce table in order to escape their beatdown.

Adam Pearce told Paul Heyman to tell Bron Breakker to go home once he arrives at the arena, as he knew he would have bad intentions after his title loss to CM Punk last week.
A New Challenger Emerges
CM Punk cut an in-ring promo pointing out that the road to WrestleMania was long and they still had the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber before they get there. Finn Balor, having clearly heard what Liv Morgan said to him earlier, interrupted, saying Punk named him when he won the title as someone he wanted to face. Punk questioned whether he’d be facing Finn Balor or Finn Balor and the Judgment Day, because he just went through the numbers game with The Vision and came out on top. Punk accepted Balor’s challenge and suggested they do it tonight. Balor declined, saying they would do it next week in Belfast.
Things are heating up! 😲

Women’s Tag Team Championship #1 Contenders’ Match
Next up was the match made after the opening segment, with The Kabuki Warriors taking on Liv Morgan & Roxanne Perez and Bayley & Lyra Valkyria. As the match began, the commentary team noted that Flair & Bliss and Jax & Legend might be upset that they weren’t in this match. Asuka & Kairi controlled the early goings of the match with Kairi Sane hitting an Insane Elbow as the show went to break. After the commercial, all six women executed a Superplex, with Sane taking most of the damage.

Sane hit another Insane Elbow on Valkyria, but the referee wouldn’t count, claiming that Sane wasn’t legal. The near falls came fast and furious at this point, with each team nearly picking up the win. Liv Morgan made a blind tag and hit Kairi Sane with Oblivion for the win. Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez go on to Saturday Night’s Main Event from Montreal on January 24th.

A video aired in which Becky Lynch complained about Maxxine Dupri already getting a rematch in Belfast next week. Dupri was interviewed, saying that last week was a setback, and Becky had to cheat to beat her.
From one interview to another, Michael Cole interviewed Raquel Rodriguez at the top of the aisleway. Cole asked Rodriguez why she attacked the injured Stephanie Vaquer last week. Vaquwer appeared, still in her walking boot, but officials kept them separated. Vaquer cut a promo to the camera, and Rodriguez returned, attacking Vaquer with the title belt.
NOT AGAIN 😩

Jey Uso was backstage with Otis and Tozawa, who requested a title shot, and Jey said he would talk to Jimmy and get back to them.
The Vision vs. Penta & Lee
Next up was Bronson Reed and Austin Theory taking on Penta and Dragon Lee. Penta and Lee wowed the crowd with effective double-team offense as the match began. The Vision shifted the momentum with a double-team offense of their own and took control as the show went to an ad break. Upon return, Lee made the hot tag to Penta, and the faces took it to the heel faction. Then, from out of nowhere, Bron Breakker appeared, hitting spears on both Lee and Penta, causing the DQ.
OH MY BREAKKER 😱@bronbreakkerwwe is HERE and just broke Penta and Dragon Lee IN HALF! pic.twitter.com/CbZzYPiASf
— WWE (@WWE) January 12, 2026
Adam Pearce appeared, stopping Breakker as Reed hit a Tsunami on Penta. Breakker then hit another spear on Lee, and Breakker grabbed Pearce before the rest of the Vision held him back. Heyman and Paul pleaded with Pearce to stop, saying Breakker was going to kill him. Pearce then suspended Breakker “indefinitely,” and Paul Heyman noted Pearce put his hands on Breakker first, and that was a huge mistake.

Penta and Dragon Lee were being attended to backstage when Je’Von Evans entered, asking if they needed help.
AJ Styles vs. Gunther
The main event of the night saw AJ Styles taking on Gunther. Styles started off the match focusing on Gunther’s hamstring, kicking at it every chance he got. After an ad break, Gunther began a chop assault as the crowd loudly cheered for the heel. Styles responded by continuing to go after Gunther’s leg with Dragon Screws and kicks. AJ caught Gunther with the Calf Crusher, but Gunther made it to the rope. Styles hit an impressive-looking Springboard 360 Leg Drop to Gunther’s leg for a two count.

The two continued back and forth, slapping and chopping each other. Styles applied the Calf Crusher again, but was able to escape after smashing AJ’s head into the canvas. AJ caught Gunther with the Calf Crusher a third time, and Styles suddenly released the hold, arguing with the referee that Gunther tapped. Gunther hit Styles with a low blow while the referee was inexplicably talking to the ring announcer, who never announced anything. Gunther hit a power bomb on Styles for the win. A replay was shown with Gunther tapping out on Styles’ thigh – out of view of the referee. Gunther laughed as the show went off the air.
