WWE Chief Content Officer Paul Levesque has penned a column urging Americans to prioritize physical fitness and “set an example” for the next generation.

Levesque, who serves as Vice-Chair of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition, published the piece on the Fox News website on Saturday. In the article, he advocates for the revival of the Presidential Fitness Test, a youth assessment program reinstated by President Donald Trump via executive order in August 2025.

Writing about his own journey, Levesque recalled joining a gym at 14 years old while standing six feet tall and weighing “130 pounds soaking wet”. He described the experience as transformative, noting that working out “illuminated a destination” for his life.

“I’m imploring you, and your kids, to start right now,” Levesque wrote, citing a 270% increase in childhood obesity rates over the last 50 years. “It doesn’t matter if you can’t do a single pullup, pushup or sit-up. It matters if you try.”

The initiative to restore the fitness test falls under the administration’s broader “Make America Healthy Again” agenda, spearheaded by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Kennedy’s first year in office has been marked by significant scrutiny from medical professionals regarding his skepticism of established public health norms, particularly his stance on vaccination schedules, autism, and the restructuring of federal health agencies.

Levesque concluded his piece by invoking his signature catchphrase: “A physical fitness regimen changes you as a person… So, I’m asking, on behalf of the president: are you ready?”
