Callum Newman states that he has a multi-year deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling.

During a backstage interview after Sunday’s Blue Justice XVII event, Newman cut a promo on David Finlay and challenged him to a match.

Newman stated, “Everything’s based on jealousy in this f**king company. I’m the only foreigner, as far as I’m aware, in this company who has a multi-year deal to one of the biggest f**king companies in the world, and I’m only 23. Do you know what that means? I’m one of the best in the f**king world. I’m better than Jay (White), I’m better than Kenny (Omega), I’m better than (Will) Ospreay.”

Newman began wrestling in 2018 and debuted for NJPW three years ago as part of the United Empire. During his tenure, he has held the IWGP tag titles twice with partners, Jeff Cobb and Great O-Khan.

On January 5 at New Year Dash, Will Ospreay appeared in the ring and said once he was healed from his neck injury, he would return to New Japan, and United Empire would dominate again. When the group struck its pose, Newman prepared to strike Ospreay with a chair from behind, but was stopped by the other members without Ospreay realizing.
