Sami Zayn prevailed in a Fatal Four-Way match at Saturday Night’s Main Event to secure a WWE Championship opportunity against Drew McIntyre.

Zayn defeated Randy Orton, Damian Priest, and Trick Williams in the main event at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, overcoming significant interference to win in front of a hometown crowd.

The match began with Williams stalling and avoiding engagement, while the Montreal crowd loudly supported Zayn.

The action spilled to the outside frequently, with Randy Orton at one point delivering back suplexes to all three opponents onto the commentary table.

Williams prevented a potential victory for Zayn earlier in the contest, pulling the referee out of the ring after Zayn had connected with a Helluva Kick on Priest.

Orton later executed a double draping DDT on Priest and Williams and hit an RKO on Zayn, though Priest broke up the subsequent pinfall attempt by Williams.

The closing sequence saw Priest execute a Razor’s Edge on Zayn. After Priest knocked Williams off the ring apron, Zayn recovered to strike Priest with a second Helluva Kick to secure the pinfall victory.

Following the match, Undisputed WWE Champion Drew McIntyre attempted to ambush the new number one contender. Zayn anticipated the attack and threw McIntyre out of the ring before celebrating as the broadcast concluded.

Zayn is now scheduled to challenge McIntyre for the title at the Royal Rumble next week in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
