In his first appearance since fighting against pound-for-pound great Oleksandr Usyk, Tyson Fury will return on Netflix later this year.
Fury will meet heavyweight contender Arslanbek Makhmudov on Saturday, April 11, in the United Kingdom, per an announcement made this week by Netflix in partnership with Riyadh-owned Ring Magazine.

37-year-old Fury has been out of the ring since 2024, when he lost a pair of high-profile heavyweight championship bouts to Ukraine’s Usyk, ending a career-long undefeated streak. The British boxer announced his retirement following the second loss, something he has done nearly half a dozen times in his career, but then revealed his return early this year.
In his first fight back, Fury will take on a solid heavyweight who, while possessing impressive knockout power, has never faced anyone at his level.
Russian-born, Montreal-residing Makhmudov is a veteran of the Canadian boxing scene, amassing 16 straight wins in the country before touching down in the U.S. While he once picked up a NABF heavyweight title by stopping Raphael Akpejiori on a 2023 Top Rank card, he has lost in past step-up battles against Agit Kabayel and Guido Vianello.
Makhmudov enters the upcoming fight following wins over Ricardo Brown and David Allen last year.
The announcement shows Netflix’s continued interest in picking up the rights for singular boxing events. The promotion has amassed a portfolio of high-profile boxing broadcasts in recent years, ranging from top-level prizefights to pop culture phenomena. Their biggest shows have been Canelo Alvarez vs. Terrance Crawford, Amanda Serrano vs. Katie Taylor, Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul, and most recently, Paul vs. Anthony Joshua.
A press release from Saudi Arabia’s Turki Alalshikh noted that Netflix is currently working on a feature-length documentary on Fury.
