The final date in AEW’s month-long residency in Arlington, Texas will wrap up with the debut of the promotion’s newest signing.
Recent WWE departure Tommaso Ciampa will make his AEW in-ring debut on Saturday night’s episode of AEW Collision, which is scheduled to take place at the Esports Stadium in Arlington.
Ciampa made his shocking appearance on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite, answering Mark Briscoe’s TNT Championship open challenge. That matchup will take place as part of this weekend’s show, which has four bouts set for it thus far.
The TNT contest won’t be the only title opportunity on the card. We also learned on Wednesday that Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale will put their AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships up against Julia Hart and Skye Blue.
Attempting to give ally Kris Statlander a clean title matchup this week, the Babes of Wrath said they would offer the Sisters of Sin a tag championship opportunity if they didn’t interfere in Statlander’s bout against Thekla. After the women’s title bout finished up without any funky business, the tag title clash was confirmed.
Collision will feature the AEW in-ring debuts of Zachary Wentz and Dezmond Xavier of The Rascalz, who will go head-to-head with Lio Rush and Action Andretti. Rounding out Saturday’s lineup is a singles bout between Darby Allin and NJPW stand-out Clark Connors, who will be wrestling for the first time since he worked New Year Dash earlier this month.
Brody King vs. MJF, National Championship match confirmed for next week’s Dynamite
A trio of high-profile matchups have been confirmed for next week’s Dynamite.
Brody King will fight AEW World Champion MJF in a title eliminator bout on the upcoming episode of Dynamite, we learned today.
While King has been chasing MJF down for weeks, the champ insists that the former tag titleholder cannot challenge him until he earns a major win. King thought that there’s no bigger win than beating the champ himself, and met with Tony Khan to arrange the title eliminator.
Next week’s show will also see Kenny Omega and Andrade El Idolo continue their quests towards a future title opportunity when they face off. The winner will go on to battle Hangman Adam Page in a #1 contenders bout at AEW Grand Slam: Australia.
It’s also expected that Jungle Jack Perry will battle AEW National Champion Ricochet next week. Perry earned the title opportunity by winning a #1 contenders match against Anthony Bowens earlier this month.
