WWE Backlash is going to Tampa, Florida, in May with the promotion’s first premium live event after WrestleMania 42.
The news was shared by Paul Levesque in a video posted on Saturday in advance of today’s Royal Rumble in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The May 9 event is set for the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, three weeks after the two-night WrestleMania at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
POST Wrestling had previously reported that the May 9 event was scheduled for San Juan, Puerto Rico. This was informed by multiple sources, including one stating San Juan was listed for May 9 in the company’s internal calendar. We have reached out for clarification on the change of locations from what we reported last month.
Tampa hosted the 2021 edition of Backlash at the WWE’s Thunderdome at the Yuengling Center.
